Jaguars Stadium of the Future: Construction Timeline and Relocation Details

Many fan inquiries about the Jaguars' "Stadium of the Future" revolve around when construction will begin and when the team would relocate its home games from Jacksonville.

The Jacksonville City Council will ultimately vote on the new stadium contract on Tuesday. According to team President Mark Lamping's agreements with city council, the pact includes a general timeframe for when construction would begin on the stadium, the estimated fan capacity in the stadium in a given year, and when they will have to relocate their home games.

Here's how the timeline looks:

2025: Capacity will stay same because construction is not anticipated to commence until after the 2025 football season.

2026: With the upper decks closed, the Jaguars will play in front of an estimated 43,500 fans.

2027: There will be no games in Jacksonville in 2027. The club will most likely play its home games in Orlando or Gainesville. Additionally, the squad will be able to play three home games in London this season.

2028: The new stadium is constructed and ready for fans.

During the 2025 and 2026 football seasons, the team could play three home games away from Jacksonville, including their "normally" planned matchup in London. So, in effect, one more home game may be withdrawn from Jacksonville during this two-year span.
